Got to go do chores last Wednesday, in this cold, windy weather. Our old chicken coop was looking really awful. It had so many holes and cracks and was basically falling apart. I can't find a picture of it right now, so when I do, I will post it. Dad took it down with the tractor this spring loaded it up and hauled it to our garbage pit a mile away. This is our new chicken coop, way more cozier for these egg laying friends ours.
Our yard never really has no chores, yes, it slows down in the summer because the cattle, and 4h calves, are all gone, but there are still chickens, dogs, and cats to feed.
In the winter when cows come home we feed them every day, we feed our 4h calves twice a day, the replacement heifers are in 1 corral, and bulls are in another corral. In the past few weeks I have treated 2 heifers for pink eye. You never really get a break when animals are at home there is always something that has to be tended to. And I love it.

Yeah, I would imagine that when you have bad weather, taking care of the animals is not fun...
We have some chickens too, but they are very poor about laying eggs for us, LOL.
